Empty Bowls Monongalia is a compassionate, community-driven organization dedicated entirely to tackling food insecurity in Monongalia County. Since its grassroots beginnings in 2007 with a modest church-based luncheon, it has grown into a robust effort that raises funds and awareness through annual soup-and-bread luncheons and multiple events throughout the year. Their work is deeply rooted in local volunteerism, artist-made bowls, and donations that go directly to partnering agencies who serve neighbors in need—making each bowl a symbol of how many remain “empty” without access to adequate food.
